Mexico Day Five (Wednesday)

Today we took the kids from Manatial de Amor out to a national park for a good old hang out day. Some of the kids went in the pool that the park hide, while another half of the group (mostly older kids) went on a 'hike' which was mis-advertised. It was essentially the closest you could get to rock climbing without needing a rope, and at times, DC and I did kind of want a rope. I was on the mountain almost all day so I have no pool shots, but I do have a bunch from the mountain. One of the local girls ended up needing a lot of extra breaks while climbing so DC and I stuck with here which was just fine with us. It gave us a lot of extra time to take pictures. Tomorrow is our last day doing a work project so be praying for the endurance of our kids. Let's finish strong and give it everything we got tomorrow. Thanks for the prayers and encouraging words. It has really been uplifting for our students during debriefs every night.

Love
-Jeff

I didn't get to look at the blog yesterday and feel like I missed SO much! Again, great pics Jeff and DC! The joy and love in each face is obvious. That joy is because you are all there...making a difference in people's lives. And John, thanks for all the narratives. That's so important for us back at home and you do a great job!

Pey, I miss you SOOOOOO much! It's not like you're at camp or something. I can't wait to see you on Saturday!

One Accord peeps, Kelsey's surgery went very well...once they got her in. There was much delay at hospital. She's on pain meds and begins physical therapy Thursday (today).

My prayers for you all continue. You're amazing!!!!

Shea,
You must be avoiding the camera because you haven't been in many of the pictures. It looks like everyone is working hard and having a great time. We miss you! Cari was outside with her sidewalk chalk writing you notes in the driveway and she tried to call you last night. Keep up the good work and we'll see you soon. Love Mom

Steph,
"Love is like an ocean where the waves are always spiraling towards an inward vortex with the sharks, stingrays, and jellyfish." That's deep. Very deep. It might take a lifetime to truly understand. Probably because I made it up and it doesn't mean anything! I love you, and know you will finish strong. You are marking people's lives in ways they will never forget. Leave everything "on the field". Walk in the power of God's strength, and know that he is showering love and mercy through you and everyone on the trip to those you interact with. My thoughts are always with you.

It looks like you guys had an incredible day yesterday. I'm jealous you got to go hiking. The pictures are beautiful. I am so proud of all of you for going out and giving your all everyday. Continue to serve hard. I'm praying God will give you lots of extra energy these last few days.

I don't know if I'll get a chance to check the blog tomorrow. Pardon me while I brag for a minute. We are having a birthday party for my niece, Amanda, and after the party we will be baptizing my niece, Heather. She accepted Christ at camp a couple weeks ago. I'm so excited!

Okay I'm done now. While I'm with my family I'm going to be bragging about all of you! You guys are doing awesome. Love and prayers to all of you.

We've loved being able to follow the daily events via this blog. Thanks so much, guys! It's been cool to see Jesus' hands & feet in action through the Mexico team. Team, you've soared to new heights as you've humbled yourselves to serve just as Jesus would do. It's a perfect example of the least becoming the greatest! It appears you all are "marked" by your experiences this week. Our specific prayer is that you remain strong as you stay the course.

Olivia, our home isn't the same without you! We miss you beyond words & have loved seeing your smiling face on the blog pics! What a grand day Saturday will be when we're able to throw our arms around you, hear of your adventures, and celebrate, in person, what God has done through you! You're an amazing person! Much love, Dad & Mom (Mark & Laura Waltz)
